Ray Gullickson is the senior public health inspector, and we asked him directly if this us something we should be concerned about?
“ Yes there is a risk, however the risk is very low. The risk of catching it in Ontario, particularly in Temiskaming is very low. There are a lot more things out there that are far more risky including influenza. Yes we should take it serious, but is there any reason to panic, absolutely not.”
He says treat it like any other illness of its kind, wash your hands frequently, and stay alert.
