Things are clearing up at the Temiskaming hospital where a gastrointestinal virus has pretty much closed things down for the last week and a half.

President Mike Baker says things are improving.

” We are still under outbreak as defined by the health unit, ¬†we have identified the virus as Norovirus, and that requires the hospital to have five consecutive days without a new patient or a staff case occurring.

At this point we have gone 5 days without a patient incurring the virus so we have lifted the visitor restrictions”.

He adds they hope to have things back to normal by the first of the week.
