The OPP is warning boaters to be careful heading into a COVID-19 long weekend that might see people on the water.

There have already been 3 marine deaths in the province this year.

The police are reminding everyone to be aware of the ramp rules as not all municipal boat ramps are open.

Keep in mind the water is frigid and hypothermia can set in quickly if you fall in, or your boat capsizes so life jackets are a must.

And no more than 5 people in your gathering per provincial protocols.

You must always have one life jacket per passenger on board.
