Poirier Takes Over Leadership Of The NOP

Shawn Poirier is the new Interim Leader of the Northern Ontario Party.

The Kirkland Lake native replaces Trevor Holliday who says he stepped down for several reasons.

“I am stepping down as leader of the party to ensure we continue to adjust and adapt to ensure we have a leader that can communicate with the supporters, members, media and most importantly Northerners in more than just English. Recently, the members voted on having the party be both English and French and continue to adjust as we go.”

He says he will work with Poirier, who is fluent in English and French, until a leadership contest can be held sometime in the future.
