For the 4th season in a row the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League is teaming up with the Canadian Mental Health Association to incorporate the Talk Today program.

Each team in the league has it’s own representative to help with personal issues.

Mark Leinello is with the CMHA in Cochrane-Temiskaming.

“The Talk Today Program is an initiative to more or less destigmatize mental illness and to open the door to have discussions about mental health, and suicide, and suicide awareness in general.”

They will be available for meetings with individuals or group meetings to help players learn how to deal with issues, and to look for warning signs in team mates, family members and others.
