MNRF Flood Watch Extended

A flood watch for the Kirkland Lake District has been extended.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, water levels and flows in local lakes and rivers will remain high following significant snow melt and a combination of warm temperatures and the potential for scattered showers expected to move into the area over the weekend.

Lower-lying areas of flood-prone roads along river courses will likely be affected as lake and river levels increase over the coming week.

Residents are reminded to avoid swollen waterways and slippery banks for their own safety.

The Ministry continues to monitor the weather and watershed conditions.
